With the digital age, came the birth of bloggers – the new digital age media army, with fashion and beauty warriors alike helping to set and develop trends around the globe. Every Monday, Wear Eponymous sits down to interview an up and coming blogger that has shown skill, quality and excellent blogging values.
This week, we interview Lorna Burford, editor of Denimblog.com, Raindrops of Sapphire and The Fashion Supernova. As the creator of three fashion-based websites, Lorna has a profound passion for anything fashion-related and aspires to work in design.
W.E: Hello Lorna! Tell us a bit about you!
Lorna: Hi! I'm 25 and I'm a personal style and fashion blogger from the countryside of England. I've been blogging for over 7 years and love everything about it! I'm a huge denim addict and I'm quite a homebody at heart.
W.E: What pushed you into starting your blogs?
Lorna: I've been the editor of DenimBlog for over 7 years and just over 4 years ago I decided that I wanted my own blog, Raindrops of Sapphire, where I could write about anything I wanted to. It was going to be a fashion site where I shared my likes and dislikes with people who had similar interests to me, but over the years it's turned into a personal blog where I showcase my outfits and life. Then just over a year ago I decided that I wanted a blog fully dedicated to fashion and beauty in a non personal way. That's when I started The Fashion Supernova and it's more like an online fashion magazine!
W.E: What Spring trend are you lusting over?
Lorna: At the moment I'm really loving pastel coloured biker jackets! Those are a huge weakness of mine! Especially in baby blue!
W.E: You have deviated into multiple blogs. How do manage it?
Lorna: It's my full time job, so I don't do anything else but blog. It's very time consuming and it's a 24/7 job where you can never really shut off though. You're always connected in some way, whether it's social media, instagramming a photo you just took, replying to comments, etc. It's definitely only for those who have the passion for it! Otherwise juggling multiple blogs is really hard! It's hard anyway, but I mean it would be harder.
W.E: What's your ultimate wardrobe classic?
Lorna: Skinny jeans! Most of my outfits, I'd say 99% of my outfits actually, revolve around a pair of skinny jeans! You can't ever go wrong with them! They make a great base and are so versatile!
W.E: If you won the lottery, what would be your first fashion purchase?
Lorna: That's a good question! Maybe a Céline bag? I've always wanted one, but they are incredibly expensive! I'd probably just head over to Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Harrods though and see what I ended up coming away with!
W.E: Tell us a funny fashion story!
Lorna: When I was a lot younger, I think 12, I was getting into fashion a lot. I had these really amazing burgundy jeans which looked so cool and pretty. I wore them for a day out which involved long train rides too, but about an hour or two into the trip, the stitching at the crotch was starting to rub my thighs so badly! It was getting really sore and painful, I spent most of the day walking around like I was John Wayne! Needless to say I never wore those again, such a shame as they were pretty!
W.E: Finally, what is your favourite Wear Eponymous piece this season?
Lorna: I love the pastel pink blazer or the classic trench coat! Those two would make great staples for Spring!
