Blogger Monday: Rachel Bell

With the digital age, came the birth of bloggers – the new digital age media army, with fashion and beauty warriors alike helping to set and develop trends around the globe. Every Monday, Wear Eponymous sits down to interview an up and coming blogger that has shown skill, quality and excellent blogging values.

This week we interview Rachel Bell from fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog, Twenty Something Beauty.

W.E: Hello Rachel! Tell us a bit about you!

Rachel: Hi! I'm a 22 year old beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger hailing from beautiful (if cold) Scotland. As well as a very obvious obsession with all things beauty related, I'm also big fitness advocate, both physical and mental, and you'll find sports and spiritual posts on my blog as often as you'll find beauty reviews or trend analysis. I'm just coming to the end of my masters course at university, so I will be venturing out into the big bad world soon, which will hopefully mean a lot of fun new content for my blog!

W.E: Why did you begin your blog?

Rachel: To connect with people who loved beauty and make-up as much as I did. I wanted to know that I was not crazy for loving the beauty world, because a lot of my friends at the time thought I was! It was a relief to find people who would happily chat for an hour about the difference between orange and blue toned red lipsticks. I also spent so much of my time during my undergraduate writing analytically and I needed a place to write creatively instead. Luckily my blog has enabled me to do that for the past 4 years!

W.E: What are your favourite SS2014 trends?

Rachel: I love anything that makes women feel empowered. So seeing a lot of leather, Masai inspired patterns and fresh tailoring on the catwalks has delighted me. I love anything which looks fierce - so Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen nailed it for me.

W.E: What is the ultimate classic outfit?

Rachel: I love chic. So for me it's a pencil skirt, classic blouse, blazer and court heels every time. I love bringing this look into the modern age by adding a pop of bright colour into this outfit - so wearing a bright, neon pink blazer with more conservative colours is something that really works for me.

W.E: How do you define beauty?

Rachel: Beauty should be about confidence. Whatever makes a woman feel confident, whether that be make-up, new clothes, running, gardening, protesting, writing... Beauty is about being happy with yourself and it is true what they say - it is more than skin deep!

"What fashion rules!"

"What fashion rules!"

W.E: Name a fashion rule to break.

Rachel: Ha! What fashion rules...

W.E: An unexpected trend you love!

Rachel: Pops of neon! I'm loving seeing outfits given a fun twist just by adding in a pop of neon, whether that be handbag, shoes or nails. I just bought the perfect pair of neon yellow heels to add some interest into a jeans and blazer combo that is on the cards for an upcoming dinner.

W.E: Finally, what is your favourite Wear Eponymous piece this season?

Rachel: The monochromatic shift dress - I would totally rock this with some bright pink lipstick and some killer heels.
