Blogger Monday: Clémence Flamee

With the digital age, came the birth of bloggers – the new digital age media army, with fashion and beauty warriors alike helping to set and develop trends around the globe. Every Monday, Wear Eponymous sits down to interview an up and coming blogger that has shown skill, quality and excellent blogging values.

This week we interview Clémence Flamee from fashion and lifestyle blog, Your Life Is Not A Rehearsal. Clémence is 23 years old and has a passion for thrifting and cookie dough ice cream.

W.E: Hello Clémence! Tell us a bit about you!

Clémence: I'm an avid Vogue reader and freelance journalist. It's a bit weird being interviewed as I am usually the interviewer! My favourite interviewee was Paloma Faith because she was extremely sweet and I adore her extravagant head-gear and out-there vintage clothes.

W.E: What prompted your venture into blogging?

Clémence: I spend every weekend I can rooting through charity shops for fashion gems and quirky pieces. There is nothing quite like the buzz of picking up a designer item for pence. I once picked up a Lulu Guinness Clutch Bag for 50p and thought I should start blogging about my thrifty items.

W.E: What are your favourite trends this year?

Clémence: I love the grown-up crop tops paired with bodycon skirts and the jazzy art-house fashion pieces that are cropping up on the high street. I'm also still in search of the perfect floral kimono-style jacket!

W.E: The three ultimate wardrobe staples - go!

Clémence: Black leggings are a staple. Without black leggings I would probably spend every evening staring for hours on end into my bottomless wardrobe for the next days outfit. They can be smartened up or dressed down so easily. A chunky necklace for underneath boring collars is essential too. A good selection of pencil skirts serve me well for work too, I err towards blacks and greys so I often need to force myself into some colour.

W.E: How do you define beauty?

Clémence: I always look to Audrey Hepburn as the definition of true beauty. She was so classically stunning and I could spend days on end watching her old films.

W.E: An awful trend from your childhood you feel nostalgic about?

Clémence: Jelly shoes with beads in the heel. They made the most memorable "sprinkly" sound when you walked! I'm not quite on board with the Jelly Shoe revival, but if they bring back the novelty ones with beads I may be swayed!

W.E: What has been the most rewarding aspect of blogging for you?

Clémence: I appreciate it so much when people take the time to read my blog and comment on my posts. When someone sends you a message to say they love something you've posted, it makes spending time blogging after work worthwhile.

W.E: Finally, what is your favourite Wear Eponymous piece this season?

Clémence: I'm lusting over the Jacquard Cigarette Trousers. I love the contrast on them and think they would look perfect with my pink Vivienne Westwood Melissa pumps.
