Blogger Monday: Tiny Thalia

With the digital age, came the birth of bloggers – the new digital age media army, with fashion and beauty warriors alike helping to set and develop trends around the globe. Every Monday, Wear Eponymous sits down to interview an up and coming blogger that has shown skill, quality and excellent blogging values.

This week we interview “Tiny” Thalia, competitive napper, pirate enthusiast and fashion blogger from Chroma Me Silly.

W.E: Hey Thalia! Tell us who you are!

Thalia: I'm a 25 year old Virgo girl living in super sunny Miami, FL. When I'm not blogging, you can usually find me behind the camera photographing the world, or geeking-out at renaissance festivals. Also, I have a penchant for all things silly!

W.E: Why did you begin your blog?

Thalia: Honestly, I started my blog because I felt like I was missing a creative outlet in my life. Sure, I'm a photographer by trade and that kept my mind busy, that was my creative way of showing how I saw the world, but I felt like I needed something creative to show how I saw myself. That's how Chroma Me Silly was born, it started as a place to showcase my Halloween costumes and cosplays and turned into a remarkable way to continue my love affair with make-up and fashion.

W.E: What are your favourite SS2014 trends?

Thalia: I'm loving this “blast from the 90's past” actually. Never in a million years did I think I would see daisy printed shorts making a comeback, or that grunge fashion would be cool again. It makes me feel a tad bit old, but I really like it anyway!

W.E: Give us your best piece of fashion advice.

Thalia: My advice is to go with your gut. If you really, really like something - WEAR IT! Even if its not "in", even if your friends don't like it. If it makes you happy, and you feel good in it, WEAR IT. DO IT. Fashion history wasn't made by people who meticulously followed all the rules, sometimes it pays to do what you want.

W.E: How do you define beauty?

Thalia: It's all relative I think. It's different for all of us. I find beauty in being imperfect, in those little anomalies that make us uniquely human. I like flaws and scars. I think beauty is breaking out of your shell.

W.E: Tell us a funny fashion story!

Thalia: Oh man! During my senior prom, I was so scared of wearing the same dress as someone else, so I made sure to get the most colourful, loudest printed dress ever. Of course with my luck, some other girl WORE THE SAME ONE! The same ridiculously printed dress. But it wasn't embarrassing at all for us, we both mutually agreed we were super bad-ass for being on the same train of thought! I wish I could find the photo of us together! Hilarious!

W.E: You're stuck on a desert island with only one outfit. What is it?

Thalia: Gladiator sandals, a floppy hat, Prada sunglasses and a gauzy, flowy dress. I may have weird tan lines but at least I'll look fabulous when they find me. Oh, and sunscreen. Duh!

W.E: Finally, what is your favourite Wear Eponymous piece this season?

Thalia: I love the high waisted faux leather skirt. You always see them in black, so this colour is a perfect surprise. I'd pair it with a crop top and some comfy flats. It's perfect for a sushi lunch date on South Beach!
